David Kitt – The Nightsaver (7/10)

David Kitt’s new album sits squarely in the ‘dance inflected indie pop’ tent pitched by New Order all those years ago and inhabited today by acts like Hot Chip and Junior Boys. Written and recorded by Kitt himself, Nightsaver offers a strong set of accomplished, intimate songs enhanced by a strong pop sensibility and some very nice production touches.

Sure there are couple of fizzers here, but the best tracks (It’s Yours and Alone Like That) do more than just keep you going till the next Hot Chip album arrives.
