Editors, Crowded House

An End Has A Start
The UK indie scene churns out hipster bands like no other, and Editors are somewhere in the middle of the pack of the current postpunk crop. Formulaic and derivative of Interpol (guitar lines a la U2 circa 1981, disco highhats, and overwrought vocal delivery), but the band can certainly write a good tune.

Crowded House
Time On Earth
Neil Finn is one of the few NZ musicians with genuine world status (as he recently reminded us), and calls on Johnny Marr and the Dixie Chicks to contribute to his band’s first album this millennium. The familiar acoustic rock feels more played than it did in the late eighties, but won’t disappoint fans. Dedicated to Paul Hester.
